hosutesu kurabu

A hostess club.  An establishment where clientele will frequently include businessmen in groups seeking a bonding opportunity by intermingling with women, often with a one-to-one ratio. In Japan’s Bubble Era, these sorts of businessmen outings were often covered by the companies‘ entertainment expense accounts.  Also refer to mizu shōbai.
